At George Davies Turf, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with the highest quality products, and this is no different when it comes to our artificial turf; we wouldn’t sell you a product that we wouldn’t be happy using ourselves. Over the years, we have seen a definite increase in demand for artificial turf. This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise because as the quality of artificial turf has improved, visually it has become less and less obvious which is which when comparing it with natural grass. Although artificial turf doesn’t provide you with the ‘real grass’ feel, the major differences do mostly stop there. There are many advantages that make this such a popular, sought after alternative, so why might our artificial turf be the perfect solution for you?
Artificial turf can be laid immediately, and will look good from day one without requiring a lengthy and labour-intensive bedding-in process. The low-maintenance aspects don’t stop there. Perhaps the most redeeming quality of artificial turf is the fact that it is incredibly low maintenance and will be far from tiresome to keep looking healthy and aesthetically pleasing. From the process of actually laying it right through to ongoing maintenance, there is considerably less work involved to keep your garden looking fabulous compared with natural grass. Of course, there is still some caretaking required – you will need to hose down your lawn from time to time in order to remove any grime/ grubbiness that has built up, and we also recommend that you power brush it occasionally in order to keep the holes in the base clear and avoid any drainage issues. If the grass becomes flattened or slightly matted, this is easily rectified by giving it a good brush. There is, of course, no need to feed or water artificial grass and you are saved from the need to mow it as well.
Many people who suffer from hay fever may think that they can’t have a grassy area in their garden, and at one point this would have been true. However, with our great quality artificial turf this is no longer the case. Hay fever is an incredibly common allergy, with an estimated 13 million people in the UK being affected each year. For a family of hay fever sufferers, artificial grass could be the perfect solution. The grass contains no pollen as it is artificial. Mowing your lawn also spreads pollen and disperses it into the air – there is no need to mow artificial turf so this helps to keep the pollen at bay. This means that you can fully enjoy spending time in your garden during the summer months without being attacked by sneezes and streaming eyes.
Surprising though it may be, artificial turf is entirely animal friendly. Our artificial turf is non-toxic and is therefore entirely harmless to your dog and any other furry friends that may play on it. It is also very durable and will be able to withstand energetic play from your pets. It’s also a great solution for children; you can say goodbye to muddy footprints being tracked through your house! Artificial turf also means that your kids would be able to play outside all year round (weather depending) as your lawn will not become worn or muddy as it would with natural grass.
If you’re looking for a minimal maintenance lawn then artificial is almost certainly the right choice for you. Artificial grass is really low maintenance throughout the year, but requires a little extra care when it comes to winter months. The colder weather can wreak havoc on your garden but if you’re well prepared then you shouldn’t have too much bother with it. Ultimately, the lawn should not be damaged by a long frost, or fall to pieces if walked on. Artificial turf will look fabulously green and healthy throughout the year, no matter what the unpredictable British weather is doing. Our artificial turf is good quality and really versatile, meaning it can be a great addition to almost any space, whether it be indoors or outdoors.
