Meet Nicolle

If you’ve placed an order over the phone with George Davies Turf in the last year, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of speaking to our lovely Customer Service and Sales advisor Nicolle.

From experienced landscapers to new customers embarking on their first garden design project, Nicolle has the ability to put customers instantly at ease with her gentle voice,    warm and caring personality and fantastic product knowledge.

Despite only being with George Davies Turf since 2023, Nicolle has completed a full season and understands the intricate changes and challenges facing our customers month by month. Working closely with our office and yard teams, she has developed a unique insight and specialised knowledge in turf and can advise on the many variables involved for ensuring its quality and efficiency.

Before joining us, Nicolle worked in customer service for ten years, managing key accounts in the fire and security industry and acting as a first point of contact for clients. Despite the fast-paced environment and daily problem-solving skills needed, Nicolle enjoyed the customer relationship side the most and meeting clients face to face.

Nicolle said, “My previous company started out as a family-run business and had a great environment and culture. However, when it was later sold everything changed and

when I read the job advert for George Davies Turf, I thought it was too good to be true. It was clear they were incredibly passionate about their staff and were proud to be a family-run business – it seemed so close to what I’d had previously I didn’t think it was possible to get it again.

“There was a two-stage interview which included leaving a voicemail about myself, the reasons I wanted the job and why I thought I’d be good at it. I was then invited for an interview at George’s house where I got to meet four other members of staff – I thought this was a lovely touch and gave me a positive feeling about the company.

“I was offered the role and have loved every minute of it since. Despite being one of the newest employees, I never feel like that as everyone is lovely and George makes sure everyone is included.

“There was a lot of knowledge to pick up at first, but I found the best way to learn was to get stuck in and just pick up the phone. The last year has gone really quick, but I know everything that comes with each season and can answer most queries now.

“I love being back in an office environment, George puts lots of social events on for us all and keeps us feeling like one big team which is such a nice change from where I was.”

George Davies said, “Nicolle has brought so much to GDT in the last year, not just in her professionalism but her approach to life in general, she has quickly become a rock in GDT and an individual that everyone looks up to and admires. Nicolle is due to go on maternity leave shortly and we can’t wait to welcome her new arrival to the GDT family.”

Outside of work Nicolle has a five-year-old son who keeps her on her toes and she is due her second child any day. She loves going to the gym and watching Arsenal as much as possible – something she has done with her Dad since she was a young girl.

Nicolle is a huge music fan and loves going to gigs and festivals, she’s been to Glastonbury three times and would love to go back when she has more time….maybe with the kids in tow.
