Earlier this year, George Davies donated £250 towards an official racing suit for 12-year-old, up and coming Karter Bella Fairclough.
Bella started racing officially in 2021, aged just 10 years old. Since then, she has gone on to win a series of races including O-Plate, WC-Plate Champion, UKC Super Final Winner (first female in history) BWRDC Junior Gold Star and most recently the FIA Girls on Track Rising Star 2023.
Bella’s father Will has supported her career from the very beginning and is the reason she first got into racing. At just 5 years old, he bought her a 50CC Yamaha Quad Bike which she learned to drive in the forest and hills where they lived in Mid-Wales. Will then began taking her indoor karting when she turned 8 which quickly turned into outdoor karting.
Will said, “This is an expensive industry and any contribution helps a great deal. The money donated by George Davies Turf is brilliant, not only does it support an up-and-coming sports person and help Bella’s journey, their company logo will also be seen at some of the most prestigious races in the world!”.
Bella is the only UK driver to be selected in the Rising Stars 2023 Junior programme and will be battling it out this month at the final in Maranello Italy. If she wins, she will receive a full season in an international karting series in 2024 as well as career support and driver development opportunities from Ferrari Driver Academy.
When talking about her future aspirations in motorsport, Bella says, “I want to become a successful professional racing driver and compete at the highest level of the sport, in single seaters. I want to race a full season in Junior karting in Europe in 2024 and 2025, then Senior karting for a couple of years before moving up to Formula 4 by the time I am 16.
I plan to take part in as many races as possible to gain experience and to increase my skills on the track. I will also work closely with my team to identify areas where I can improve.”
George Davies said, “We’re so excited for Bella and feel proud to be able to play a small part in developing such a massive talent. We’ll be following her journey and wishing her luck in Italy and look forward to supporting her in the future where we can.
Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that Bella is one to watch and we have no doubt she will go on to achieve her dreams of becoming a professional racing driver in the future.”
